Summary:

This paper details the application of eigenvalue sensitivities to design controllers for wind doubly-fed induction generators aimed at damping subsynchronous oscillations that occur when they are connected through series compensated lines. An alternative controller transfer function to the standard one is proposed to improve the damping of the subsynchronous mode without impairing the damping of the supersynchronous mode.

Keywords: Eigenvalue sensitivities, damping controller, subsynchronous resonance, doubly fed induction generator.
